Shockingly great. Hilarious, well-acted, and smart
I had never heard of this before, and it was a LOT of fun. I think it could've derailed in so, so many ways, but I don't think I have any big problem with it at all. It's so great to see a horror/comedy film that comes from an actual place of love. For all of the gore and bloody deaths, there's not one mean bone in the film's body (which is something that definitely happens in a lot of horror these days) and it's all the better for it. The comedy at first glance seems shallow and vapid, but it's incredibly funny. Although it's not the masterpiece that The Cabin in the Woods is, this is still very much a worthy companion to it. It's absurd in all the best possible ways.
